Quick Ways To Naturally Increase Hits To Your Blog
By: Brett C

As an addition to my last post, "The Best Ways To Drive FREE Traffic To Your Website", there are several ways to quickly increase the number of hits to your blog website rather than using PPC (Pay Per Click).

1). Add content as often as possible. Adding content daily would be ideal, even smaller articles which only take 10 minutes to write can increase the number of hits to your website, as search engines like websites that are updated frequently and will pull information on the updated content in their search query.

2). Write useful content. Writing useful content can create the old fashioned (in today's standard) word of mouth affect. Someone stumbles across your website and finds the information valuable may refer you to a friend or family member. Although this may seem small, the long term effects can be incredible.

3). Ping your blog frequently. Several new version of blog software automatically ping your content. Pinging is basically letting search engines know that you've updated your site content with a new post. When you ping your website, search engines will pull the applicable new data in the query. Ping-o-Matic is a great resource to effectively ping your website to several search engines at once.

4). Post to other blogs in your niche. Do a quick Google search to see which blogs are in your blog niche. Post comments on their posts. Don't post simple comments like, "nice post", write extensive and honest opinions about the subject matter and be sure to add your blog link to the bottom of your comment. If someone thinks your comment was valid, they may check out your website as well.

5). Submit your website to traditional search engines. Websites such as this one, Submit Fire offer search engine exposure and is a very cost efficient solution to using PPC on the largest search engines. Websites such as these offer submission in to smaller search engines. They will even do a website analysis for you for an additional fee to let you know where you can make improvements.

6). Don't give up! Blogs can take some time to build a loyal reader base. Some of the most successful blogs on the Internet have years and years of content to place well in search engines. If you're not posting frequently, you can't expect your traffic to increase substantially, unless you're dropping major finances in to promotion.

7). Post articles to websites such as ezinearticles and include your link on the bottom of the post. Useful content will attract a wide array of visitors.

8). Have a friend with a blog website? If not, make some! Find users with blogs in a similar niche, ask them to add a link to your website in exchange you do the same. Search engines also like it when they see sites are being linked to, they may take it as valuable information.

Tip: Use a free hit counter, like Google analytics, or an alternative to ensure you know which methods are working best.

Although this post was similar to the last, I wanted to add some information regarding driving traffic to blogs in specific, as there are alternative methods that can't be used for just any website.
