About Rocketface® Workshop
WHOIS
My name is Gene DeFazzio. Like many of you I wanted my own website. So about 10 years ago I set out on my quest to design and build the ultimate site. What I learned is that there was more to designing a website than I could ever have imagined.
Background
After 20+ years as a CAD designer I thought designing a website would be a breeze. So I began to search the web for anything I could find on the subject. To my dismay there were few websites that really covered the subject in detail. Most of them covered only a part of what a website really is and those that did left out some important details. Those that did cover the subject well tended to be too technical. Thus, Rocketface was born.Keeping it simpleThe Rocketface® Workshop is my attempt to gather together, in one place, everything I have found on how to design a website plus a few of my own thoughts. I keep everything as simple as possible so that people like myself would have a place to go and find the things they need to design and build thier own website. I have made every attempt to eliminate technical jargon and buzz words.
Thanks,Gene

These are some of the nice comments that visitors have made about the Rocketface® Workshop.
I am taking a college course requiring a presentation incorporating a website. Of all the many books I have read, and courses in HTML and the Internet, I have never seen website design presented as concisely and intelligently as this workshop. I wanted to thank you for putting this workshop for free on the web. Not only will it help me design a professional looking site for my class presentation, I am sure it helps countless others who want to learn more about designing a GOOD website.
Thank you again. Madeline, CO
I have copied each page of your workshop so I will be able to cogitate, reflect, and inwardly digest the wealth of supportive information you've offered so nobly.

Congratulations on a very informative site. I found it to be very useful. I have just completed my companies Intranet and I am now moving on to doing the web page.

It was definitely the most helpful resource I have found! Pages like yours are what make the web great, everything I wanted to know was right there.
I am very much a "can do" person who just needs a little basic info to start; many sites I had seen so far go into the html coding etc. and IGNORE how you should "think" about designing a site; this, in the end, to me, is the most essential information. thanks again, and please keep up the good work! I would love to send you my link when I get my site up and running:
I am a professional photographer and I'm designing my own site because I have seen so many "professionally designed" photographer's sites that are so mediocre; they're full of useless flash and tiny pictures- I think my approach will be quite different, and I would greatly appreciate any input from an expert such as yourself.
anyway, thanks again and warmest regards,
John, USA
I cannot think of another website I visited where I checked nearly every link and printed nearly every page. I am faced with the task of designing a website for our company and find yours logically organizes the process. Thank you.

Your website is great! It is a prime example of how a website should be designed. Thank you for a learning experience. I have shared my awareness of your website with all my webpage design classmates. We were assigned the project of researching "website design and organization". When I came across your website I was astounded that not only I could use your website as a resource but as an example of how a website should be designed and organized.Thank you for a wonderful experience.
