Mini Site Research, Creation and Marketing

    What is a Mini Site?

The term Mini Website or Mini Site refers to a small website that is constructed with a singular purpose, to promote a particular idea or sell a particular product. Comprised of usually no more than one or two pages a mini site is designed to promote a sole asset or agenda.

Mini websites offer a quick and inexpensive way to put your product out on the web for world wide consumption. With no more than a domain name and a page of HTML your offering can be seen by the whole internet community. All it takes is a product that is desirable to visitors and then submitting it, via a mini site, to the various search engines.

    Mini Site Design Process

    Select a Niche

Decide upon the group of people that you want to reach. This field of prospects can be hobbyists, collectors, tradesmen, etc. The important thing is that they are a clearly defined audience who eagerly employ your product or have a passionate interest in what you have to offer.

This audience should be large enough in number to be profitable to you or be interested enough to employ your services on a regular basis. Once you have picked the niche you want to target you are ready to begin the production of your mini site.

    Create Site Content

Your website content must appeal to your targeted niche. Some sources of site content are articles, press releases, blog posts and/or tutorials.

Create your content with your visitors in mind. Avoid digressing from the main topic, stay focused on what you are promoting.

The important thing to remember when creating your website content is that it must be interesting and compelling to your target audience.

Use simple and clean graphics avoiding distracting images, poor typography and wild color schemes. Your message should remain clear and concise.

    Generate Traffic

In order for your mini site to generate revenue you must have exposure. This can be achieved in several ways. Such as; pay-per-click, article distribution, press releases, keyword optimization, niche forums, blogs, directory submissions, organic SEO, tagging blog posts and submission to social sites.
